Privacy information for remote user interviews

1. Introduction

We would like to conduct a remote interview with you about your use of the Vectornator app. 

In order for us to be allowed to do so, we must, by law (Article 13 of the GDPR), first provide you with certain data protection information regarding the personal data we will collect during the remote interview (hereinafter the "Data"). 

This is the purpose of this privacy information. We ask you to read it carefully:

3. Purposes and legal bases of processing

We process the Data for the purpose of further developing and improving our software offerings. The legal basis for data processing is an expressly granted consent, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. 

4. Recipient of the data

As a matter of principle, the Data is not passed on to third parties. However, we use certain tools from external service providers to record the interview, and the Data is thus transferred to them. These external service providers are carefully selected by us to ensure that your Data is only used for the purposes described in section 4 and in accordance with data protection laws. 

5. Transfer to a third country

The tools we use to record the interview (see para. 5) come from providers, some of which are based in a third country, namely the USA or Australia. We have concluded an order processing agreement with these providers within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR.

6. Duration of data storage

We store the Data only for as long as we need them for the processing purposes (section 3). After that, we will delete them, unless we are obliged by law to retain them for a longer period. 

If you exercise your right to revoke your consent (see para. 8), we will delete the Data immediately upon receipt of the revocation, unless further processing can be based on a legal basis for processing without consent.

7. Your rights

You have the following rights with regard to your Data, see Art. 15 ff. GDPR: 

  • Right to information,
  • Right to rectification or deletion, 
  • Right to restriction of processing,
  • Right to object to processing,
  • Right to data portability. 

You can revoke your consent to the processing of Data at any time. The legality of the Data processing based on the consent until the revocation remains unaffected.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your Data. 

8. Necessity of the provision of the Data

It is neither legally nor contractually required that you provide us with the Data; it is also not necessary for the conclusion of a contract. You are not obligated to provide the Data; failure to do so would have no consequences for you.
